New J-pop and K-pop Releases

Sorry the post is late this week; I planned to post yesterday but wasn't feeling well. :) Today I thought I'd share some new J-pop and K-pop songs/videos. First up one of my favourite Japanese singers Namie Amuro has a new single called Hero. It's for the Olympics , it's the theme song for the Japanese broadcast. Seems weird that it's 4 years since the last Olympics in London! This is a nice song. :) The video is the short version (just over 2 minutes). Update 16/3/19: The original video was gone so I replaced it with a new version. Note:  Avex videos are now blocked from being shown on third party applications. If you click on the videos you can watch them fine on YouTube. :)                                  Namie also has another video for the song Show Me What You've Got (from the Hero single). Unfortunately they won't show it on her YouTube channel; they sometimes make them unavailable for certain countries. They do have it on D

Computer problems

I don't normally do two posts in one day but as I mentioned recently I had some computer problems . I took my computer to the shop to get sorted out and got it back at the beginning of the month. However I just started having a similar issue to what was happening before, so I may have to get it looked at again. In that case the blog will take a break. If not, I'll continue posting as normal. :)

Weekly Music Video

Today's video (or audio) is Thinking Out Loud by JoJo . I first heard the short version of this song on her 2012 mixtape Agape and really liked it. This is the full version from her new mixtape #:LoveJo2, a follow-up to #LoveJo which was released in 2014. I don't think it's out yet but I'll keep an eye out. :) Update 19/8/16: #LoveJo2 was released last December in honour of JoJo's 25th birthday. JoJo's last release was the EP Tringle in 2015. Check it out here: http://starsparklex.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/jojo-tringle.html

New BANKS Video

American singer BANKS has a new single called F**k With Myself. I haven't heard much BANKS' music lately (her last release was Better in November). I think it's from her 2nd album which is due out on 30th September. I really like her first album GODDESS so I'm looking forward to the new one! At first I wasn't sure how much I liked it but it grew it on me and I bought it on iTunes the other day. The video is quite strange though, lol. F**k With Myself is out now. As you can tell by the title, the song is explicit! :)

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is Company by Justin Bieber. It's from his latest album Purpose and I previously posted a link to the PURPOSE: The Movement version in this post: http://starsparklex.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/justin-bieber-videos.html This is the music video version.

Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap was an American sci-fi TV series about Dr. Samuel (Sam) Beckett (played by Scott Bakula ) a physicist who is part of the research project Quantum Leap, which is working on time travel. The experiment goes wrong and Sam gets "lost" in time, "leaping" into the bodies of different people and only leaping out when he's successfully changed history for the better. Each time he leaps, he hopes that he will make it home. The show ran for 5 series (or seasons) from 1989 to 1993. Sam's guide through time is his friend and Project QL colleague Admiral Al Calavicci ( Dean Stockwell ) who appears as a hologram who only Sam can see and hear.* Al is linked up to the advanced computer system Ziggy. The voice of Ziggy is actress Deborah Pratt , who was also a producer on the show and the wife of series creator Donald P. Bellasario . Their daughter Troian (now best known for Pretty Little Liars ) features in the episode Another Mother (see below) and her name

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is Kickin' Back by Mila J which is from her new EP 213. The music in the background sounds similar to Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff's Summertime and also Aaliyah's A Girl Like You . Both good songs!  Mila's sister Miyoko features in the video. Their other sister is Jhené Aiko . Please note that the song is explicit. :) Update 18/7/20 : Both Summertime and A Girl Like You sampled  Kool & the Gang's Summer Madness . For more songs from 213 check out my latest New Music/Videos post: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2016/07/new-musicvideos.html
