Recently I came across a dance video on YouTube (in my recommendations) of a girl called Kaycee Rice. I found this other video of Kaycee dancing with her partner Gabe De Guzman. It's called Monster and it's an interesting dance, it seemed a bit strange to me at first (lol) but it's good.
Kaycee and Gabe are in the 11 year old age category in this video and the dance style is hip hop. Kaycee became an internet sensation at 10 when the video of her doing a solo called Werk (the one I was recommended) was posted on Twitter by singer Katy Perry. You can read the article and watch the video here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2345230/EXCLUSIVE-Katy-Perrys-Tiny-Dancer-How-superstar-turned-little-girl-internet-sensation.html
Kaycee is from Simi Valley in California and dances at Studio 13 Dance, which is owned by her mum Laura Rice. She does a variety of dance styles including hip hop, lyrical and jazz. Some of Kaycee's routines were choreographed by Tricia Miranda who has worked for music stars such as Missy Elliot, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears and Beyonce.
Gabe (full name Gabriel) has won dance competitions at regional and national levels, featured on TV shows and video games and danced with celebrities including Bruno Mars and Will Smith. He's also done TV adverts and live theatre. I think he mainly does hip hop. Both Gabe and Kaycee auditioned for America's Got Talent in June.

I've also been watching the TV show Bring It! on Lifetime (it just started in the UK). It's about a dance team called Dancing Dolls in Jackson, Mississippi. They're taught by Dianna Williams (Miss D) and the type of dancing they do is called "hip hop majorette". It's similar to Dance Moms, the series follows the girl's rehearsing and performing each week.
It seems good so far. Dianna is a tough coach but she doesn't appear to be malicious, like Abby Lee Miller (from Dance Moms) can come across as sometimes. There is some drama, mainly with the mums, lol. Dianna makes them stand outside the studio if they want to watch! This was a dance style I didn't know anything about, so it's good to see something new.
Here is a video of the Dancing Dolls performing in Memphis at the Prancing Tigerettes Jamboree 2014. The Prancing Tigerettes are their rivals but this appears to be an event they were hosting.
