Some Mariah Carey + J.Lo Songs

Two of my favourite singers are Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. In the past I've done Top 10 posts and follow ups for both of them but this time I thought it would be good to do a combination post. :)

Here are my previous Mariah posts: Top 10 Mariah Carey Songs, More Mariah songs and
And more Mariah songs!

And my previous J.Lo posts:  Top 10 Jennifer Lopez Songs and More J.Lo songs.

Mariah Carey

You Got Me (with Freeway and Jay-Z)

This song is from Mariah's 9th album Charmbraclet and is one of my faves on it. It wasn't released as a single, so there's no video.

Update 22/5/20: The original video is gone. There's now an official upload on Mariah's channel which I can't link to directly on here, so here's the YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpcLNZq19ac

Makin' It Last All Night (What It Do) feat. Jermaine Dupri

This song appeared on the Ultra Platinum (re-release) edition of The Emancipation of Mimi, which was released in November 2005. I don't tend to get the same album twice but I do have both versions of The Emancipation! This wasn't a single either.

H.A.T.E U

H.A.T.E U was the 3rd single from Mariah's 12th album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009) and came out in November 2009.

Jennifer Lopez

Loving You

Loving You is one of my favourite songs from J.Lo's 3rd album This Is Me...Then. It's got an old fashioned vibe, similar to Still. It wasn't a single so has no video.

Ain't It Funny

This is the original version which features on J.Lo (2001). It was the 3rd single from the album. Apparently it was intended for Jennifer's film The Wedding Planner but it wasn't used in the end. There's also a remix which I really like. (Click the More J.Lo songs link to watch the remix video).

I like the gypsy theme in the video and Jennifer's love interest! lol. He was played by Mexican actor and singer Eduardo Verastegui, who's most well known for starring in Mexican soap operas (telenovelas).

So Good

So Good is one of my favourite songs from Jennifer's latest album (her 8th studio release) A.K.A, which came out in June 2014. It would be good for a future single. :)

Hope you like the songs! Who do you prefer, Mariah or J.Lo? Or do you like them both? :)

25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. It was actually the first album I ever bought (on cassette tape, lol) and I still consider it one of my fave MC albums. :) Butterfly was the first album that Mariah had more control over and it is R'n'B, rather than the pop (and later pop/R'n'B) of her previous releases. It also has pop and hip hop influences.  The expanded edition contain 8 extra tracks (the original standard edition has 12)- a duet version of Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight , a new take on The Roof featuring Brandy , live versions of Butterfly and My All, acapella versions of Fourth of July and Outside, an Amorphous Anniversary Club Mix of Butterfly (with DJ Amorphous ) and a remix of Honey (Another Taste of Honey David Morales Mix). I had previously heard the

Debut XG Mini Album

Japanese girl group XG have released their 1st mini album. It's called NEW DNA and was released on 27th September. XG (whose name is short for Xtraordinary Girls) made their debut in March last year and have brought out 7 singles so far- Tippy Toes, MASCARA, LEFT RIGHT/SHOOTING STAR double single), GVRL GANG , TGIF, NEW DANCE and PUPPET SHOW. The first 3 songs (or 4 including the double single) aren't on the mini album. The concept behind NEW DNA is that of being a "new species" free from conventions and limitations .  Although the group is Japanese, their creation was inspired by Korean music and they are based in South Korea. They have released songs in English so far and have been described as a global group and "X-pop". NEW DNA consists of 6 tracks- HESONO, X-GENE, GVRL GANG, TGIF, NEW DANCE and PUPPET SHOW. It is an R'n'B/pop mini album with influences from other genres, such as K-pop, dance and hip hop. My favourite song is PUPPET SHOW. I al
